Synergy Update Adds Album Display To iTunes

Wincent Colaiuta has released an update for Synergy, bringing it to version 0.9.7. Synergy is an iTunes utility designed for expanding the graphical display of the standard iTunes feature set. The update adds the ability to display album covers of song titles being played. According to Wincent Colaiuta:

Synergy 0.9.7 brings automatic downloading of album covers.

Synergy, the lightweight iTunes control interface, today reaches version 0.9.7 and brings many new features, including the ability to automatically download and display the album cover of iTunesis currently playing song.

This new feature, and the ability to buy albums from Amazon.com with a single click, are a major enhancement to the software.

The new version is the first to dynamically download album covers over the Internet. Downloading occurs in separate background threads, and downloaded covers are cached locally so that Synergy can display the cover in subsequent sessions without having to re-download it.

You can find more information about the Synergy update at the Synergy Home Page. Synergy is available for US$5.00.
