SynthEyes 3D Tracking App Gets Intel Update

Andersson Technologies on Friday issued an Intel update to its SynthEyes 2006.5 3D tracking application. The software offers camera tracking, motion capture, object building, object tracking, camera+object tracking, multiple-shot tracking, tripod (nodal) tracking, zooms, lens distortion, light solving, RAM playback, image preprocessing, rotoscoped object separation, and more.

SynthEyes, which was used in such films as King Kong and Magnificent Desolation: Walking on the Moon 3-D, also handles shots in any resolution -- DV, HD, film, and IMAX -- and can be used in long shots with thousands of frames. It exports to 25 animation and compositing packages, and it features scripting for customizing standard exports as well as adding imports, exports, or tools.

Upgrades from the PowerPC version of the software are US$50, while the full version is $399. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3, a 1.6GHz G4 or G5 processor, or an Intel chip, 512MB RAM (1GB recommended), a three-button mouse with a scroll wheel, 1024 x 768 display resolution, and 20MB hard drive space.
