Tangelo Puts Blog Software on Your Mac

Tangelo is a standalone application that runs on your Mac, making managing and controlling a blog a more direct endeavor. Most blog engines are run on a Web server, offering either client applications or a Web interface for direct management of your blog. Tangelo publishes your blog to a Web server through FTP.

According to the company, Tangelo organizes text and images and provides full support for sections, HTML shortcuts, and blog page templates. Tangelo also provides full RSS and Atom support, and post publishing from NetNewsWire.

"We originally developed our Frequency application to talk to the leading weblog server software systems" said Brad Rhine in a statement, "but we also saw a need for a weblog system thatis more easily installed and maintained right on the useris own computer."
