Tax Free Weekend in Some States Benefits Apple Back-to-School Customers

· by · News

Some states have a tax free weekend for specific back-to-school items. Apple customers in Alabama, Georgia, Missouri, New Mexico North Carolina and Tennessee could benefit from a new, tax free Mac this weekend.

The limits vary by state. For example, the limit in Alabama for a computer is US$750, but North Carolina allows $3,500.

Typically, the Apple store concierge will have a paper handout describing what items are tax free and the exemption limits.

In some states the tax free dates are already in progress, and for most the dates are Aug 1-3, 2008 for computers.
