TechRestore announced Wednesday new overnight hard drive updates for PowerBooks, iBooks and other laptops. The company is adding 80 Gigabyte and 100 Gigabyte 7200 RPM hard drive options to the service.
TechRestoreis service is designed for markets without a qualified local Mac repair shop. The service includes overnight pickup from anywhere in the continental U.S., installation of the new drive and a data transfer within 24 hours, and overnight shipping back, for a total turnaround as quick as three days.
The 80 Gigabyte 7200 RPM overnight upgrade is US$319 including the drive, all shipping costs and installation. The 100 Gigabyte 7200 RPM overnight upgrade is $449 including the drive, all shipping costs and installation. TechRestoreis standard, 5400 RPM drive upgrades are available starting at $229 with capacities up to 120 Gigabyte.
The upgrades include a 1-year warranty from TechRestore, and a 5-year warranty on the drive itself from the manufacturer.
