Tech Superpowers, BOSFCPUG Offer 'Geek My Ride' at Macworld Boston

Apple specialist Tech Superpowers and the Boston Final Cut Pro User Group (BOSFCPUG) on Friday announced that they will present the second annual "Geek My Ride" video editing competition during Macworld Boston. The event takes a Lexus IS300 and loads it with a video editing suite that competitors use to create a Macworld-themed movie in 90 minutes.

Open to both amateur and professional video editors, this yearis version of "Geek My Ride" will use the "Xsan in a car theme," loading the Lexus with an Xserve RAID, an Xserve G5, Xsan 1.1 and Final Cut Studio. There are eight time slots available to single editors or teams of two. Everyone who wants to compete must pre-register and must have a Macworld Expo exhibit hall pass to get to the booth.

The event will take place during the morning and afternoon of July 12 and 13. Prizes include US$500 cash, a LaCie Silverscreen display and Brenthaven laptop bags. Thereis no entry fee.

Macworld Boston will happen July 11 to 13 at the Hynes Convention Center.
