Remember eWorld? eWorld was Appleis online service that existed before the Internet and Web as we know them today. Launched in June of 1994 and available exclusively to Mac users, eWorld had a small, but loyal user base that reached 147,500 users at the time of its closing in 1996. eWorldis subscriber base was sold to AOL, a growing online service that had grown up with eWorld as a competitor.

The Mac512 User Group is offering a tour of eWorld with some screenshots, information, and links to even more information. According to Mac512:

The Mac 512 and The Mac 512 User Group have posted a memorial web page summarizing Appleis eWorld online service which was available from 1993 - 1996. Join us on a multimedia tour as we relive some of its glorious past.

This is a nice trip down memory lane for those of you who remember eWorld, and an educational look at a piece of Appleis past for those who donit. The Internet and the Web have both come a long way since 1996.
