Three Phone Utilities Updated with Tiger Support, More

Three developers -- Jonathan Nathan, Nova Media and Parliant Corp. -- have updated their phone utilities with Tiger support and other new features. Jonis Phone Tool, which can dial a Bluetooth-enabled cell phone or a land line through a Macis modem as well as make calls via Voice Over IP (VoIP) services, has been updated to version 2.3. In addition to Tiger support, it offers an Automator Action for use with Tiger, a new Services menu, new menu bar icons and more. Itis free for registered users. The full software is US$12 and requires Mac OS X v10.2.

Nova Mediais Mobile High Speed version 4.12 also includes compatibility with new cell phones and PC Data Cards, including palm Oneis Treo 650 smartphone. The software helps Mac users set up their computer for an UMTS, EDGE or GRPS connection to the Internet with a cell phone or PC Data Card. This is a free update. The full software is $91.50 and requires Mac OS X v10.2.8.

Parliantis PhoneValet Message Center 2.2.1 has added Address Book dialing support in Tiger and offers several performance enhancements. The PhoneValet package includes hardware and software that enables users to set up a Mac as a kind of virtual secretary, greeting callers and verbally and visually announcing each call, as well as recording conversations and handling voice mail duties. This is also a free upgrade for registered users. The full software is $199.95.
