Trans International Announces 2GB RAM Chips For G5 Macs

Trans International announced it has developed 2GB RAM modules for Appleis new iMac G5 and Power Mac G5 on Friday. The modules are unbuffered DDR2 PC2-4200 and support data rates up to 533MHz. 512MB and 1GB modules are already shipping, and the 2GB modules will be available in early November.

The iMac G5 512MB module is priced at US$59, and the 1GB module is $119. The Power Mac G5 modules are sold in pairs, and start at $109 for the 1GB (two 512MB modules) kit, and $239 for the 2GB (two 1GB modules) kit. Pricing for the upcoming 2GB modules is not yet available.
