Two Free Sets of GarageBand Loops

iCompositions and MacJams both announced Thursday that they are giving away a free set of GarageBand loops. Both sets of loops can be used with any application that recognizes the Apple Loops format, including Logic and Logic Express.

iCompositions is offering a free set of 90 drum loops, courtesy of Drums on Demand, a developer of loops and other drum-related recording software and packages. The bundle being given away includes 90 drum loops, 19 "single hit" sounds for applications such as sound effects, and 9 "loop layers" for building your own drum loops.

MacJamsi free loop package was developed by Tune Media, and is called Tune-Up Mini, an extension of that companyis Tune-Up loop package. It consists of 100 loops that MacJams said was not available anywhere else.

The Tune-Up Mini free loops are being released in conjunction with a song competition. The contest is offering prizes for the best songs made using at least three loops from the Tune-Up Mini package. Top prize is an iPod shuffle, a GarageBand keyboard, Tune-Up vols. 1 and 2.
