Two New 5.0 Megapixel Digital Cameras from Kodak

Kodak introduced two new 5.0 megapixel digital cameras Friday, the EasyShare Z730 and EasyShare Z7590.

The EasyShare Z730 is a 5.0 megapixel camera whose specifications otherwise mirror the current DX7440, including a 4x optical zoom Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon lens, 4x digital zoom, and 2.2-inch LCD. The EasyShare Z730 supports Secure Digital/Multimedia Card flash formats. The EasyShare Z730 will sell for $349.95.

The EasyShare Z7590 is an ultra zoom 5.0 megapixel camera with a 10x optical zoom lens, 3.0x digital zoom, and 2.2-inch LCD. It is similar to the current DX7590, but will sell for $50 less at $449.95. The EasyShare Z7590 also supports Secure Digital/Multimedia Card flash formats.

Both cameras will begin shipping in May 2005. At press time, Kodak had yet to update its Web site with information on the new cameras.
