Today Blackmagic Design Pty. Ltd. in conjunction with AJA Video Inc. announced the immediate availability of version 1.2.1 software for the Kona SD uncompressed 10 bit video card for Mac OS X.

This update includes new installers for running the Kona SD in different television standards used world wide. In the past the Kona SD software was based on a single installer, where with the new twin installers, users can install for default operation in either NTSC or PAL.

This new option eliminates the problem where a system could startup in NTSC, but the users PAL monitor could not view stable video from the incorrect video standard being output from the Kona. With un viewable video output, users could not see the Monitor setting control to set the video standard back to PAL.

You can find more information about the Kona SD update at the Blackmagic Design Pty. Ltd . Web site. Kona SD is available for US$3,295.00.
