Video Download Service Hints at New Apple Products

· by · News

4Flix.Net hopes to score part of the digital movie download market by offering digital rights management-free feature-length films, but in the process it may have inadvertently revealed part of Appleis unannounced product line up. The service touts that its videos are formatted as H.264, and are compatible with a wide range of devices including Sonyis PSP, Intelis VIIV entertainment platform, and also Appleis "6th Generation 16x9 widescreen Video iPod," and "Airport Express Video with HDMI out."

A wide screen video capable iPod and AirPort Express with video capabilities are not products that Apple has announced, although they are devices that many speculate will be announced on September 12 at Appleis "Showtime" media event.

The likelihood that Apple would reveal its new product lineup ahead of an official announcement seems remote, especially considering the tight-lipped nature of the company.

Representatives from 4Flix.Net were unavailable for comment, and Appleis policy prevents spokespeople from commenting on unannounced products, which means weill have to wait until Tuesday to see if both devices are revealed.
