Walt Mossberg Sings The Praises Of iPod On TV, Suggests More Could Be In Store For Device

Walt Mossberg of The Wall Street Journal has been saying good things about Appleis products for the last couple of years. Mr. Mossberg covers computer industry events for the Wall Street Journal, and started offering positive coverage of Appleis products after being given a personal demonstration of the iBook by Steve Jobs, Appleis CEO. He has penned columns about Mac OS X, the iBook, the PowerBook, the iMac, and the iPod, and he has also appeared on networks like CNBC touting those products in technology-oriented sports. Last night, he took that message to a more mainstream audience on The Charlie Rose Show.

The Charlie Rose Show is a late-night interview-based show hosted by Charlie Rose. His subjects include politics, sports, the media, entertainment, and technology. Observer Victor Emmanuel Raja Sandrasagra sent us a summation from last nightis interview with Mr. Mossberg. Whatis more, Mr. Mossberg suggests that more could be in store for the liil MP3 player. Walt Mossberg of the Wall Street Journal was on the second segment of the Charlie Rose Show last night on PBS. He was showing off some of his favorite new handheld devices. He had a Treo, the Danger Hiptop, a Samsung/Sprint PCSVision mobile phone, and The iPod. Mossberg described the iPod at length and declaimed it as the best MP3 player on the market. He showed the iPod last, and the iPod was the only non-wireless device on hand, but Mossberg suggested that it could easily be made to be wireless, and that its form factor, interface and disk capacity were attributes that would behoovingly lend themselves to a wireless handheld pda/web/e-mail/voice device . Is this Mossbergis wishful thinking, or is he as was noted by Rose in his introduction, privy to upcoming innovations in the tech world?
