WebMerge 2.2 Release Gets Interface Enhancments

Fourth World has released an update for WebMerge, bringing it to version 2.2. WebMerge is a Web development app designed for creating static Web pages. The update features multi-column index page support and interface enhancements. According to Fourth World:

Fourth World today released 4W WebMerge 2.2, an update to its popular tool for Mac OS and Windows that generates static Web pages from database or spreadsheet data.

WebMerge works with any database or spreadsheet that exports in tab-delimited, Merge, or other tabular format, including FileMaker Pro, Microsoft Access, and AppleWorks. Using HTML template pages created by the user, WebMerge makes a new HTML page from the data in each record of the exported file.

The new version supports multi-column index page layouts, a new tag for including external files, enhanced support for JavaScript and CSS, and a number of other new features.

New features in WebMerge 2.2 include support for multi-column index pages, a new tag that inserts a text file or HTML file referenced by a path in field data, and all navigation tags (WM-LinkNext, WM-LinkIndexNext, etc.) now allow attributes in the generated link, such as JavaScript function calls and CSS assignments.

The interface has been also been enhanced, adding a Favorites menu for quick access to commonly-used settings files, a new "Preview in Browser" button in the results window so you can quickly view the generated files in your browser, and more.

You can find more information about the WebMerge update at the FourthWorld Web site. WebMerge 2.2 is free for registered users, while the full version is available for US$69.00.
