Westinghouse Debuts $299 Widescreen 17-inch LCD

Westinghouse Digital Electronics LLC announced Thursday a 17-inch widescreen liquid crystal display (LCD) that is compatible with Macs, as well as Windows-based PCs.

The model LCM-17w7 display (shown below) features a standard resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels and uses a Digital Visual Interface (DVI) connector.

The display has a brightness level of 400 candela per square meter, a contrast ratio of 600:1, and a response time of 15 milliseconds. With a 170-degree viewing angle, the display weighs in at 10.4 pounds, with base, and comes in a white and silver color.

The display is available immediately and retails for US$299. U.S. electronics retailer Best Buy is a reseller of Westinghouse Digital displays.
