Westinghouse Debuts Budget-Ready 17-inch Display

Westinghouse Digital Electronics LLC announced Wednesday a sub-US$300, 17-inch widescreen LCD display that is Mac and PC compatible.

Westinghouse Digitalis 17-inch HD-Grade LCD widescreen monitor -- model LCM-17v2, The Mac Observer has learned -- has one DVI input, 1280x768 WXGA resolution, 15:9 aspect ratio, 400-cd/m2 maximum brightness, 600:1 contrast ratio, response time of 15 milliseconds and a 170-degree viewing angle.

The new display comes in a white chassis with silver trim and weighs 7.7 pounds, with its base.

The new monitor is available now and retails for US$229.
