What’s Expected of the New MacBook Pro

· by · News

If rumors are correct, Apple will unveil new MacBooks on or about October 14th. Computerworldis Seth Weintraub noted that a redesign is long overdue and took some educated guesses about what the new MacBook Pros will sport when theyire released.

Among the items Mr. Weintraub expects -- or hopes for are:

  • One piece aluminum, rounder, skinnier, like MacBook Air
  • 16:9 LED backlit display. Not 16:10.
  • HDMI video out
  • SSD option
  • Centrino 2 chipset with 1066 MHz FSB

The CW author goes into a little bit of detail for these items and more. Heis not so sure about Blu-ray, virtual keyboard and an HD camera.

In the aggregate, if Apple delivers most of these options and designs in a new MacBook Pro for the same price as the current products, the Apple community will be more than pleased.
