World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade to be Released January 16th [UPDATE]

Blizzard Entertainment announced Thursday the release date of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade; the long awaited expansion pack for WoW will be released January 16th, 2007 in North America and Europe. The company also announced that the subscriber base for the game has reached a staggering 7.5 million, each paying up to US$14.95 per month to play the massive multiplayer online role playing game.

The company announced only a "similar time frame" for Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore, while mainland China and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau will be announced "in the near future."

The Burning Crusade is priced at US$39.99 ($37.99 from Amazon).
