Shares in Apple Inc. closed at a new record high Monday, ending the day at US$283.23 per share, up $7.86 (+2.85%), on strong volume of 23.5 million shares trading hands. The stock traded as high as $283.78 during the day, but gave back a few cents before the closing door.
Earlier in the day, Kaufman Bros. analyst Shaw Wu had raised his priced target on the stock from $350 per share to $374, based on iPad sales and momentum for iPhone and iPod.
