AAPL Nudges Up 0.9% Following iPad Launch

· by · Apple Stock Watch

Shares in Apple Inc. eked out a small gain following the launch of the company's new iPad tablet at a media event in San Francisco held Wednesday. AAPL closed at US$207.884, a gain of 1.944 (+0.94%), on very heavy volume of 61 million shares trading hands.

The stock fell in the hours leading up to the event, trading as low as $199.531 per share about 27 minutes into Apple's media event. The stock ratcheted up sharply once the event was over and news coverage of the company's announcement began hitting mainstream media outlets, erasing earlier losses.

We expect to begin seeing analyst comments later today and Thursday, and The Mac Observer will cover than as news develops.

I somehow think that this reflects the fickleness of investors.

“Never-mind the bigger picture…  I want my money now!”

Maybe it’s just me.
