Adium Adds Twitter Support

Adium released Adium 1.4 on Sunday, adding Twitter support to the social networking and instant messaging application for the Mac. The update also added support for IRC-based chats.

Adium for Mac OS X

Version 1.4 also improved group chats and group chat bookmarks, updated libpurple to version 2.6.6, fixed a long list of bugs, and more. Adium supports a long list of online chat and social networking services such as AIM, MobileMe, Yahoo!, MSN, Jabber, Facebook, and Live Journal.

Adium 1.4 is free and available for download at the Adium Web site.

Hmmm… I’m not sure if it was considered to be in some kind of unfinished/beta state, or what, but Adium has worked with Twitter for quite a while. I would say that it has been that way for at least close to a year. I’m baffled as to why the release notes indicate that Twitter was just added in this version.

Yeah, Adium has been my Twitter client for a long long time. It’s buggy though. One of my accounts does not show up in the list no matter what I do.
