· by · Product News

Adobe and Facebook announced on Tuesday that the two companies have worked together to build a set of Flash-based developer tools for making new Facebook-compatible applications. ActionScript 3.0 Client Library for Facebook Platform is an open source set of tools that supports all of the Facebook APIs.

"Flash developers are already creating great applications for Facebook, and the new ActionScript 3.0 Client Library for Facebook Platform will accelerate the pace of social innovation on the Web," said Bryant Macy, director of product marketing for the Platform Business Unit at Adobe.

According to Adobe, both it and Facebook are fully supporting the new development platform, and they are expecting to see more compelling Facebook applications in the near future.

ActionScript 3.0 Client Library for Facebook Platform is free. It is available for download along with sample code, tutorials and documentation at the Adobe Web site.
