Air Playit includes a Mac and Windows-compatible server app that converts video on the fly for iPad viewing. It supports several video formats such as MKV, M2TS, AVCHD, MPEG1/2, WMV, ASF and AVI in 720p, 1080p, and other resolutions.

The app also supports streaming music from MP3, AAC, AIFF and WAV formats. Content can be streamed over Wi-Fi or 3G wireless data connections.

AirPlay for the iPad is free and is available at Apple’s iTunes-based App Store. The server app is available as a free download at the Digiarty Software Web site.
