Analyst: Apple Event to be All iPod

· by · Apple Stock Watch

While speculation that Apple will unleash a long list of new products and services at its September 1 media event is running high, Gleacher & Company analyst Brian Marshall is expecting the announcements will be more in line with previous iPod-related events.

“[The event will] be about the iPod,” Mr. Marshall said. “They will likely introduce [an Apple TV] in a sleeker case with more storage, but that’s not going to be a big deal.”

Apple will likely introduce a new iPod touch model along with updates for other iPod models, too. Mr. Marshall also expects Apple may also show off some minor updates for iTunes.

Apple will be hosting what appears to be a music-related event at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco on September 1, which coincides with similar events from the past several years. The company isn’t however, telling the media what to expect at the event.

Apple is currently trading at US$243.65, up 0.76 (0.31%).

Interesting. Not sure where Mr. Marshall is getting his info from. All rumors I have seen indicate a new Apple TV with LESS storage. And that it WILL be a big deal.

Of course, all of this is speculation. There’s a good chance that no new Apple TV will be announced at all.

John Dingler, artist,

I too heard less storage, but also with more streaming.

Not to mention rumors that Apple has been negotiating with many programming providers for 99 cent rentals…
