CheckUp 2.2 Adds Support for New Macs, More

Los Angeles-based developer app4mac announced the release of CheckUp 2.2, the company's utility that allows users to check the health and monitor the behavior of their Mac, on Wednesday. The update for the application, which functions with any G4, G5 or Intel-based Mac, added support for Apple's most recent Mac models, and also shows information for additional I/O ports.

Version 2.2 offers information for Firewire, USB, Wi-fi, Ethernet and Bluetooth, and includes an oscilloscope graph for network and processors, compatibility tests for Mac OS X 10.6 and Windows 7, improved support for Mac OS X 10.5.7, and fixed several bugs.

The program allows users to monitor their Mac's CPU, memory and disk drive and network adapter usage, and also provides visual notifications, such as an alert when a hard drive demonstrates hardware failures or a RAM chip seems to be unstable within a system.

CheckUp 2.2 retails for a 19 Euro ($25.91) and requires Mac OS X 10.5 to install and run. It is available for download at the app4mac Web site.
