Apple Adds New Canon, Sony Cameras in Camera RAW Update

Along with Mountain Lion 10.8.2 for the new iMac, MacBook Pro and Mac mini, Apple released Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 4.01 for Aperture 3 and iPhoto '11 on Wednesday. The update added support for several cameras from Canon, Nikon, Panasonic and Sony.

The full list of new cameras supported by the update includes:

  • Canon EOS M
  • Canon PowerShot G15
  • Canon PowerShot S110
  • Canon PowerShot SX50 HS
  • Nikon D600
  • Nikon 1 J2
  • Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ200
  • Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G5
  • Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LX7
  • Sony Alpha NEX-F3
  • Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100

The update requires OS X 10.7.5 or higher, or OS X 10.8.2. It's available through Software Update or as a downloadable installer at the Apple Support website.
