Apple Bringing Wi-Fi + Cellular iPad & iPad mini to China Friday

After speculation last week that the cellular-enabled iPad mini would be launching in China soon, Apple announced late Monday that cellular-enabled models of both the iPad mini and the fourth-generation iPad will launch in the country this Friday, January 18. Along with China, the two devices are now available in more than 100 countries worldwide as a result of Apple’s aggressive expansion and product rollout strategy.

Those in China who are eager to pick up a new iPad will be able to officially find them at one of the eight Chinese Apple Retail Stores, the Apple Online Store, and at certain Apple Authorized Resellers.

Apple’s announcement comes just days after the company’s CEO, Tim Cook, completed his week-long trip to China where he and other Apple executives met with both government officials and business leaders.
