Apple Not Allowing Fart Apps on Apple Watch

Bad news for fans of flatulence: Apple is not allowing fart apps on the Apple Watch. Good news for anyone with a sense of humor advanced past the age of 12: Apple isn't allowing fart apps on the Apple Watch.

According to Cult of Mac, a developer got the first known rejection of a fart app for the Apple Watch. The rejection letter from Apple specified, "We noticed that your Apple Watch app is primarily a fart app. We do not accept fart apps on Apple Watch."

The letter in full:

2.11 – Apps that duplicate Apps already in the App Store may be rejected, particularly if there are many of them, such as fart, burp, flashlight, and Kama Sutra Apps

8.1 – Apps must comply with all terms and conditions explained in the Guidelines for Using Apple Trademarks and Copyrights and the Apple Trademark List

2.11 Details

We noticed that your Apple Watch app is primarily a fart app. We do not accept fart apps on Apple Watch.

Some people will see this as Apple wielding a heavy hand to suppress what some folks see as genuine hilarity. Uh huh.

In the meanwhile, fans of fake (or sampled) fart sounds will have to limit themselves to the thousands and thousands of fart apps still available on the App Store for iPhone.
