Apple Opening a Dedicated Apple Watch Store in Shinjuku Isetan in Tokyo

Apple is building a dedicated Apple Watch store in Tokyo. The Verge reported on a black box inside Isetan department store (sometimes called Shinjuku Isetan) in Tokyo that says simply " Watch" and "Coming Soon" in Japanese.

Shinjuku Isetan is a famous department store at the high end of the high end in retail. Apple's construction site is blocked out in black near the front of the store, suggesting the company will have its own store-within-a-store dedicated solely to selling Apple Watch.

Apple unveiled Apple Watch in September, and then again in a media even on March 9th. The device will be available for preorder on April 10th, and is scheduled to ship on April 24th. Apple Watch starts at $349 for the Apple Watch Sport and scales all the way up to $17,000 for Apple Watch Edition in rose gold.

Apple said the high end of the line will ship in limited quantities, but it's a sure bet that the Isetan Apple Watch store will have them on hand and available for Japan's rich to buy. The store is expected to open on April 10th, along with other popup Apple Watch stores in Berlin, London, and Paris.
