Apple Ready for iPhone 6 Mass Production

Apple ready to ramp up iPhone 6 production ahead of September media eventApple is reportedly ready to flip the switch and start mass production of the iPhone 6 ahead of the all but confirmed September 9 media event to introduce the newest member to the company's smartphone lineup. Assuming full scale production is ramping up now, that gives Apple about a month to build up inventory before the iPhone 6's projected release date.

Sources speaking with Chinese media claim Apple is currently in the PVT stage, according to G4 Games, which is the final point before production goes into full swing.

Apple hasn't confirmed the September 9 media event yet, but multiple reliable sources are agreeing we'll get an official announcement on that date. If so, Apple will likely start pre-orders thee days alter on Friday, September 12, and start selling the iPhone 6 in stores the following week on September 19.

The next iPhone is expected to ship with a 4.7-inch display, and possibly a 5.5-inch display, instead of the 4-inch screen that's available on the iPhone 5S, iPhone 5, and iPhone 5C. Rumors claim the new model will be thinner, sport longer battery life, include improved cameras, and offer better overall performance.

Insider sources from Apple's supply aren't always the most reliable sources considering they see only small pieces of Apple's master plan. That said, if Apple is ready to start mass production, it's even more likely September 9 will be the announcement date with product shipping on the 19th.
