Apple Releases 2012 MacBook Air EFI Firmware Update 2.6

Apple released an EFI Firmware Update for the mid–2012 MacBook Air on Wednesday. The update, version 2.6, promises fixes for an HDMI color issue, Windows Boot Camp boot problem, and a system freeze sometimes caused by unplugging a Thunderbolt device.

This update fixes a color issue with HDMI displays connected to MacBook Air, resolves an issue with Windows which can prevent MacBook Air from booting properly, and also resolves an issue where unplugging a Thunderbolt device may cause the system to freeze when waking from standby.

Users of affected MacBook Airs can obtain the update via the Mac App Store or the Apple Support Site. It weighs in at 4.76 MB and is recommended for all mid–2012 MacBook Air models.
