Apple on Tuesday released OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 Supplement Update 2.0. The 27 MB file addresses an issue with the Keychain in OS X and is recommended for all Macs introduced in 2012.

Apple 10.8.2 Supplemental Update 2

This is the second “supplemental update” released by Apple for OS X 10.8.2. The first arrived in early October and addressed a number of issues relating to Safari, Mail, and system memory.

The update does not change the version number of OS X, which remains at 12C3006. It will also refuse to install on Macs introduced before 2012.

Owners of eligible Macs can obtain the update via the Mac App Store’s Software Update or by visiting Apple’s support page.
