Apple Remote Desktop Updated to Fix Firewall Issue

Apple Remote DesktopApple updated Apple Remote Desktop to version 3.7.1 on Tuesday. It's a maintenance update that fixes a firewall issue and other issues.

The main patch notes are rather unspecific, saying simply, "The 3.7.1 update is recommended for all Apple Remote Desktop clients and addresses several issues related to overall reliability, usability and compatibility."

A separate KnowledgeBase article detailed three changes in the update:

  • Prevents an issue that could cause the OS X Firewall to block Remote Desktop connections. See Additional Information below.
  • Improves reliability of the kickstart command.
  • Fixes the "Display full screen" option in Control & Observe preferences.

The update is a 5.03MB download through Apple's support site.
