Apple to Live Stream Sept 9 Media Event

Apple special media event on September 9 just became a little more accessible because the iPhone and iPad maker will be live streaming the invitation-only presentation. The company is expected to unveil new iPhone models along with the rumored iWatch wearable fitness tracker.

Apple invited journalists and bloggers to a media event it hosting at the Flint Center in Cupertino, California, on Tuesday, September 9. The company has constructed a large building outside the Flint Center, but hasn't said what the structure will be used for.

CEO Tim Cook will likely take the stage along with other Apple executives to show off the iPhone 6 in 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch display sizes. The next generation iPhone is expected to include a faster processor and larger battery, along with a better camera, and will likely be available in silver, gold, and space gray, just like the iPhone 5S.

Apple is also expected to show off its entry into the wearable tech market with a smartwatch device commonly referred to as iWatch. Apple hasn't officially confirmed the iWatch is coming, but an unnamed iWatch design team member spoke up saying Jonathan Ive has been bragging about how cool it will be. Mr. Ive is Apple's senior vice president of design and is the man behind several iconic products such as the iMac, iPod, and iPhone.

The iWatch will reportedly include a set of sensors designed to track how many steps we take each day, our heart rate, our sleep patterns, and more.

Apple's media event is set to start at 10 AM pacific time on Tuesday, September 9. The live stream video will be available on the Apple TV as well as Macs running OS X 10.6.8 or higher with Safari 5.1.10 or newer, or Safari on iOS 6 or later. The Mac Observer will be on location, so be sure to check in for our live coverage and analysis.
