Apple announced new iPod touch models Tuesday during the company’s Let’s Talk iPhone media event. For the first time, Apple will be offering a white version of the iPod touch alongside the black version that has been available since the beginning of the product line.

Apple is offering three different versions of each color, 8Gb for US$199, 32GB for $299, and $399 for 64GB, all of which represent a slight price decrease from the previous iteration. We should note that the new models don’t include Apple’s A5 processor, and appear to essentially be a cheaper and whiter version of the previous generation. On the other hand, they will run iOS 5, support iCloud, and now include the white version.
The devices will ship on October 12th.
