Apple expanded its iTunes Store in-browser previews to include the App Store on Thursday. The change means that following an App Store link in a Web browser will take people to a preview page without requiring iTunes to launch.

App Store in-browser previews
iTunes Store previews first made their appearance near the end of 2009, but were limited to the store's music selection. Preview pages include links to jump users into iTunes and the App Store.
Clicking a link for Macworld Expo's iMacworld app, for example, opens the app's preview page. Clicking the View in iTunes button jumps users to the iMacworld App Store page in iTunes.
In-browser iTunes previews aren't yet available for movies.
