Apple Dropping .Mac HomePage Viewing Nov 8

· by · News

Apple alerted MobileMe subscribers Friday morning that Web pages published to the now discontinued .Mac HomePage service will no longer be viewable starting on November 8. Apple dropped support for the feature about a year ago, but left HomePage viewing available so shared photos, videos and files would still accessible via Web browsers.

MobileMe started life as .Mac

“Please note that your content will not be deleted,” Apple said in an email to MobileMe subscribers. “Any photos, movies, or files you have published using HomePage will continue to remain on your MobileMe iDisk in the Movies, Pictures, or Public folders.”

MobileMe subscribers that use iWeb to publish content won’t be affected by the service change. An FAQ detailing the shutdown of the .Mac HomePage feature is available at the Apple Support Web site.
