Apple Expo Paris won't be returning in 2009, according to the show organizers, Reed Exhibitions. The move follows Apple's planned absence from the September event and its announcement that it will not participate in future Apple Expo Paris events.

This isn't the first conference and expo that Apple has pulled out of. The Cupertino company previously walked away from Macworld Expo Boston a few years ago, the National Association of Broadcasters trade show in 2008, and on December 16 the company announced that 2009 will be the last year it attends Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco. While NAB is still alive, Apple's pull out from Macworld Expo Boston ultimately led to the show's demise.

Apple has been slowly pulling back from the Paris event, too. In 2004, Phil Schiller delivered the keynote while Mr. Jobs was recovering from pancreatic cancer, and in 2005 and 2006 Apple backed out of delivering a keynote presentation.

While the Paris event may be defunct, IDG has stated that Macworld Expo 2010 in San Francisco is still on even though Apple won't participate.
