Apple introduced its iLife '09 Hardware Up-to-Date Program during Macworld Expo 2009. The program lets users that purchase a new Mac on or after January 6, 2009, buy iLife '09 for US$9.95 if their computer shipped with iLife '08 pre-installed instead.
The iLife suite is bundled with every Macintosh computer Apple sells. It includes iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand, iWeb and iTunes.
The offer is available for desktop and portable Mac buyers, and the company plans to offer additional information about upgrade process on January 12 on the Apple Web site.

11” MacBook Air 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5: $999.00 Delivered

i think it is sad that Apple releases software right after Christmas and wants full price for it from all the people who just got new Macs for Christmas. They should be a bit more generous, like 12/1/2008 instead of 1/6/2009.
