Apple Launches International iPad Pre-order Program

· by · iPad

As promised, Apple began accepting pre-orders for the iPad in nine countries on Monday. Customers in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the U.K. can order their new iPad now for delivery on May 28.

The iPad is Apple’s new multimedia tablet device. It includes a 9.7-inch multi-touch display, runs iPhone OS, supports most iPhone apps, includes movie and music playback along with an ebook reader, offers built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, and some models are available with 3G wireless data access, too.

If you aren’t sure how much a new iPad will set you back, or if you’re curious how iPad pricing compares between countries, check out TMO’s international iPad pricing chart.

Apple plans to begin iPad sales in Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore in July.
