Apple May Release iOS 4.3 Next Week

· by · Rumor

iOS 4.3 for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad has been in beta for some time, and the latest rumors claim its development has finally been frozen which means it make it into customers hands soon. With Apple’s iPad-related special media event scheduled for March 2, there’s a chance iOS 4.3 could be released as early as next week.

iOS 4.3 next week? Maybe.

Word of the finalized iOS 4.3 code comes courtesy of Boy Genius Report and an anonymous source. Apple, however, isn’t saying anything yet about the pending software update for its mobile devices.

iOS 4.3 will likely include Wi-Fi hotspot support for GSM-based iPhones, like the models AT&T sells. Currently, only the CDMA-based iPhone 4 sold for Verizon’s cell network offers hotspot support.

Since there aren’t any sources publicly confirming Apple’s iOS 4.3 plans, the new from BGR should be taken with a grain of salt.
