I find it interesting that times are listed as Eastern, when Apple is in the Pacific time zone.  I guess it’s irrelevant where you live as long as you are on the East coast.

The conference call starts at 2:00 p.m. PACIFIC TIME.

I find it interesting that times are listed as Eastern and Pacific, when most of the country is in the middle.  I guess it’s irrelevant where you live as long as you are on the East or West coast.

The conference call starts at 2:00 p.m. PACIFIC TIME, 3:00 p.m. MOUNTAIN TIME, 4:00 p.m. CENTRAL TIME, and finally 5:00 p.m. EASTERN TIME BECAUSE THAT IS WHERE THE STOCK MARKET IS.

Most folks in the U.S. live on the coasts, but that’s neither here, not thee. smile

We publish in Eastern (I live in the Pacific zone), and as noted by rpaege, the markets are located in the Eastern time zone.  The idea of including four time zones in every article is…beyond…tedious, and the Eastern time zone is as good as any to coalesce around.

Indeed, that’s why the vast majority of U.S.-based publications that I’ve encountered use the Eastern time zone.

Hopefully that helps explain things. smile

The idea of including four time zones

There is an App for that! smile

Mac sales down a few points from last year, but Apple showed a profit.
