| Product News

BluetoothApple released Bluetooth Firmware Update 2.0 for some of its Mac product line Wednesday, an update that improves compatibility with Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse and Apple Wireless Keyboard.

The patch notes stipulated it was for all Mac systems with Bluetooth based on the Broadcom chipset. So far, TMO's staff has seen it show up for several MacBook Pro models, while Mac Pro (January 2008) do not see the update in Software Update.

The download is a 1.6MB download, and no reboot is required. As of this writing, the update has not appeared on Apple's Downloads page.

i had to reboot after the download?

I think that is because the BlueTooth loads when the Mac boots.

Hi Cindy, did you also install the Safari 4.0.1 or another update at the same time?

im facing an error updating bluetooth firmware :s a msg shows up saying “An unexpected error occurred (4:190). Your firmware could not be updated, please try again.”
anyone have any idea how to fix this?
thank you

It is caused by the language preferences (unlikely as it may sound).

Go to “International” in “System Preferences” and make sure “English” is the first in the “Languages” list. Reboot before attempting to upgrade the bluetooth firmware again.

I got the same error as long as “Hebrew” was first on the list.

(I guess the install script tries to parse some text and fails if the text is Unicode).
