Apple released GarageBand 5.1 late on Monday, an update to the version that ships with iLife '09 that includes several improvements, as well as support for Apogee's new line of audio interfaces. The update also includes the usual overall stability improvements and compatibility issues.
Apple's patch notes list:
- GarageBand track effects and Audio Units can now be added to a guitar track
- Improved support for Apogee audio interfaces
- Faster switching to full screen in Magic GarageBand
- Improved access to audio monitoring settings
Apple is recommending this update for all users of GarageBand ’09. The patch is a 139MB download through Software Update. You can also download it through the GarageBand 5.1 update page.
