Apple Releases iPhoto Update 9.2.1

Apple released an update for iPhoto ’11 Wednesday afternoon, updating the photo management and editing software to version 9.2.1.

The update primarily “addresses an issue that could cause iPhoto to quit unexpectedly on Macs with the 3ivxVideoCodec plug-in installed.”

The 3ivxVideoCodec plugin, most frequently installed as part of the Flip Digital Video Recorder software, caused crashes for many users who enabled the Photo Stream feature of iOS 5. The update resolves this issue.

iPhoto 9.2.1 weighs in at 357 MB and requires OS X 10.6.8 or OS X Lion 10.7.2 or later. It can be obtained via OS X’s Software Update or via Apple’s Support Site.
