Apple updated its Mac OS X Server Admin Tools to version 10.5.6 Friday, an update that brings improvements and bug fixes to the software. In Software Update note, Apple said the update includes the latest version of the following tools:

  • Server Assistant
  • Server Preferences and Server Status widget
  • Server Admin
  • Server Monitor
  • Workgroup Manager
  • System Image Utility
  • Xgrid Admin
  • QuickTime Broadcaster

In the patch notes online, Apple specified the following changes were in the update:

System Image Utility

  • When deploying a system image created from a volume, the target computers will no longer have identical local KDC files. For more information, see this article.
  • Adds NetBoot/NetInstall model filters for the latest MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air computers.

Server Admin

  • Fixes an issue that could cause Server Admin to stop responding when propagating permissions on a folder which is on a volume other than the boot volume.
  • Adds NetBoot/NetInstall model filters for the latest MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air computers.

The update does not require a reboot, and the download weighs in at 88MB. You can download it from Apple's Downloads site, or through Software Update if you have Mac OS X Server.
