Apple Releases Pro App Update for Final Cut Studio

Apple released Pro Applications Update 2009-01 late on Thursday with fixes for the Final Cut Studio application suite. The update includes Final Cut Pro 7.0.1, Motion 4.0.1, Soundtrack Pro 3.0.1, Color 1.5.1 and Compressor 3.5.1, and addressed compatibility and stability issues.

Final Cut Pro 7.0.1 also corrected issues where clips could run backwards when using the Change Speed dialog, Cinema Display Previews fail to render correctly from a MacBook Pro, and colors shifted at 2048x1080 and 2048x1556 frame sizes.

Motion 4.0.1 also improved precision and quality for animated focal point rendering, improved flattened text object performance, and improved third-party FXPlug support. Soundtrack Pro 3.0.1 corrects an issue with the Get info window.

Color 1.5.1 corrected a live footage luminance mismatch issue, fixed an issue with Color FX Room failing to load properly, and fixed a display issue when showing aspect versus clip ratios.

Compressor 3.5.1 fixed an Apple ProRes codec Inspector redrawing issue, and fixed a resizing issue for iPhone 3GS and iPod nano videos, and corrected a surround sound inspector problem.

Pro Applications Update 2009-01 is free and available for download via the Software Update application, or at the Apple Support Web site.
