Apple Store Offline Ahead of Mac Media Event

· by · News

Apple’s online store was replaced with the familiar “We’ll be back soon” message Wednesday afternoon ahead the company’s “Back to the Mac” special media event. The company is expected to show off Mac OS X 10.7, introduce new MacBook Air models, and unveil iLife ‘11.

The special media event will likely put to rest fears that Apple is abandoning the Mac and Mac OS X in favor of iOS and the iPhone and iPad. The company’s annual World Wide Developer Conference earlier this year focused primarily on iOS, raising concerns that the Mac might be taking a back seat to devices like the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.
