Apple Store Offline Twice in 12 Hours

| News

Apple’s Web-based store went offline Wednesday morning for the second time in several hours. The earlier downtime happened late Tuesday night and didn’t see the introduction of any new products.

Apple's familiar store update sign

The first offline stretch seemed to be maintenance downtime, and with Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference set to kick off on June 11, it doesn’t seem likely the company is about to release new products such as an updated MacBook Pro or Mac Pro tower. Instead, those announcements would more likely come during the WWDC keynote presentation.

Of course, Apple releases updates and new products on its own schedule, so should the company surprise us with new gear today we’ll be sure to let you know.

Update: It looks like the only change after the online store came back up are product highlights for Father’s Day.

They are getting the site ready for the upcoming June 11 announcements of the new iPhone, new iPod Touch, the 8” iPad, the iTV, and the completely refreshed lineups of the MacBook Pro/Air, iMac, MacPro, and why not toss in a new Mac Mini as well!!  Not to mention new iOS, Mountain Lion, iTunes, iLife, ...

Well now I’ve gotten myself all worked up!!  Can’t wait for June 11…

Now you’ve gotten me all worked up too.

Just yesterday I was thinking about whether I’d get the next MacBook Air or not, and then it hit me, do I need another LapTop ? (Got a 2.4Ghz C2D 15” MBP) and I realised if Apple is releasing a new iPhone (real soon now) then that’s what I might get the most out of.

Of course the new iPhone is going to be a) expensive and b) hard to get so maybe if Apple is still doing the 4S (and discounting it a bit) then that’s what I’ll choose.

Although the MacBook Air is still way too tempting….
